A group called Savannah Pride attracted thousands Saturday to the 10th annual Savannah Pride Festival in the heart of downtown at Johnson Square.
Gerry Harman, executive director of Savannah Pride, said planning for the event took about a year. The organizers would gather for monthly parties to raise funding. Planning for the 2009 festival will begin next month. "And every year it seems to be growing," Harman said. "We've had a lot more vendors and a lot more performers."
